Some people define themselves by their job. Some by religion, some by politics and some by their relationships. I’m a coaster enthusiast. If I have introduce myself, that’s the first thing I tell people. ‘So, what do you do?’ ‘I’m a coaster enthusiast’ ‘I mean for a living?’ ‘I work in a theme park’. I guess that’s one definition of a geek. Someone who defines themselves by their hobby.

I think these days ‘love’ and ‘passion’ are over used words, but theme parks are the first thing I think about in the mornings and the last thing I think about at night. I think it’s fair to say that I love theme parks, and through this site I want to share my love and passion, and more importantly the things I’ve learnt from a lifetime following the industry.

Because I work in a theme park I can’t tell you too much more about myself. But the aim of this blog is to break down the different aspects of running a theme park, and to see what works and what doesn’t. It’s not primarily a photo site (although I enjoy taking photos and will share my favourites along the way) and it is not primarily a review site (although I might write the occasional review). With Funcone I want to lift the lid on the industry giving an analytical look at what makes it tick: customer service, health and safety, marketing, engineering, finance… all the things that come together to ‘make the magic’.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog and read this page. It means a lot to me.
